Some years ago there was a successful chain of jewellery stores in the UK called H.Samuel. The CEO was a feller called Gerald Ratner who, at a shareholder meeting made a light hearted joke about how everything they sold was cheap rubbish. Unfortunately for him his joke made the headlines the next day, literally destroyed the company over night.
Yesterday definitely felt like a Ratner moment.
They have insulted a large part of the customer base by saying you are not wanted while appealing to a younger audience, many of whom can't afford a mortgage.
They are going all out with luxury EV's at a time when the sale of luxury EV's, here in Europe at least, are dropping off a cliff.
As for the car... ok, it's a concept, but the exterior is awful. "

The front is generic Chinese EV, the rear is an air conditioning unit and side on it is a rip of the Rolls Royce Spectre as drawn by a 9 year old with a geometry set.
The curves of the MKII were penned by the then chairman, Sir William Lyons, a man with no formal training as a draughtsman. I bet that right now he is spinning in his grave at about 3,000rpm. And can you imagine Ferrari just binning it's heritage? Madness.
Jag's Castle Bromwich plant is a big employer here in Birmingham so I do sincerely wish them all the best but...
