WATCH: 5 Assetto Corsa EVO Details We Recently Learned

With the slew of Assetto Corsa EVO news that emerged recently, it might be hard to keep track. Check out our video for a compact summary!

The sim racing scene seemingly cannot wait for Assetto Corsa EVO to hit Early Access on January 16, as the enormous amount of questions ahead of our live stream with Kunos Simulazioni's Co-Founder and Managing Director Marco Massarutto showed. We learned plenty of new things from Marco, but there was more, of course.

You may or may not have seen articles on what's new on our website recently, but for all those who want a more condensed way of catching up, @Michel Wolk has assembled the five most important new facts that we learned about Assetto Corsa EVO in video form.

Features, cars, a lot of open world talk, and addressing the concerns of pure racing potentially taking a back seat in AC EVO are all part of the video, so you should be well taken care of when it comes to more info about arguably the most hotly-anticiapted sim in years.

What are you looking forward to in Assetto Corsa EVO? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AC EVO forum!

Too many car series, low number of Racing cars, same old tracks seen on Ac1 like Brands Hatch or Imola, and now more road than circuits¿? People are buying great wheels (from 500€ and more) better pedals (400€ or more) VR, etc and all i can do is walking my grandmother on a vulgar car? wrong way for Simracers, we just searching more realism on racing events not another GT for 7-10 boys, sorry but the idea is ugly for me, i enjoy racing games like LMU, ACC or AMS2...so please add TCR cars on ACC and some GT4 like Supra or Mustang and we forget this "Forza" copy, i hope Kunos forget this crazy idea and come back to Race. Real drivers like Verstappen uses Iracing, other like Soucek ACC, but never seen Alonso driving a GT walking the dog, Sorry i hope be wrong but every new teaser makes me cry more, and makes me loves more ACC
Should every game/sim be the one that you want?
There are other people in the world not just you, the market is bigger if they make stuff for the masses, whereas if they just please you they won't even cover the costs.

Leaving aside those people, does anyone else get an error when entering the official Assetto Corsa forums?

Sure now there's a lot of children taking money from daddy to buy Evo, If Fanatec and Moza are selling wheels sure is not for children playing with a gamepad, the money is not on children's hands that's a reality, You cannot see Verstappen playing TDU or GT, but Who is he? Just an F1 driver, nothing like children playing with a gamepad

Are we talking about the same Max who has raced in GT Sport and even competed on a official event of the game in collaboration with Red Bull and Poliphony Digital?

The same Max who said that the first Assetto Corsa was for him the best simulator because of its driving sensations?

That Max?

The same Max Verstappen who said "Assetto Corsa is one of, if not the best driving simulators"?

The idea of pairing good physics and open world has been something many of us veteran sim racers have wanted for years. A grown up Forza / NFSU2 is very welcomed.

Rennsport was met with people rightly saying "Another one? What is new here? What is the purpose of it?". Why do some want AC:E to go down the same path? Why if they think the game is not for them do they feel the need to tell everyone that it's for children. Speaks volumes when they beat their chests saying "look at me, I'm an adult!"

Max seems to like money, taken a lot of money from a sugar water giant despite being an athlete who should take care of their body...

I wouldn't take anything he says about video games seriously... No telling how much that cost Kunos to say...

I've seen Norris playing GT7 with '@SuperGT' and he was having fun he even rolled his mini cooper, who's to say that F1 drivers can't have a play?
I've seen his lordship playing an F1 game/sim with Nick, and they were having fun with controllers.
As for kids getting new fanatec stuff... they have birthdays you know, and not all kids are dumb kids, some like to play in the real world and some are good... Verstappen was only a kid when he came into F1, and now look at him.

And just so you know, I personally don't use a controller since I got a wheel but I don't feel superior to others because of it, it's a preference.

What about the damage model, if there is one?
Not much, car brands don't like it if their models get wrecked and images come online.
Bad for their reputation.
So don't expect softbody physics or even large detachable parts.
Some scratches and bumps probably, maybe a wing that comes off.
Technical damage will be there. flat tires, broken suspensions, engine, cracked windshield.

THE questioned still unanswered:

Can i race whatever supplied car i want on whatever supplied tracks i want with however many AI cars and classes I want with whatever reasonabke conditions i want whenevr i want while offline?
No. Full stop, no.

They answered it in the interview Michel did. There is no 'sandbox mode' separate from your RPG character progression. Even for online racing, to join a race you need to already own the car, or rent it for hopefully for a small amount of in game currency. So far sounds like all tracks are freely available.

Thanks for the clarification.

Looks like a no go for me.

Yes the same Max who usually plays iracing, the same Max who drove 12H Lemans in Rfactor2. Alonso drove too with Barrichello. I'm searching a simulator with tyre puncture caused by an accident or by another cars particles, oíl on road by a faillure car, random electrical or mechanical faillure, damage that affects car and chasis causing DNF, a simulator with graphics for learning how works a racing suspensión, how works splitter or wings witj graphics or animated pictures, if your better sim was Forza or GT, we are not have the same meaning of simulator, inmersive is playing with a wheel, a vibration pedals, a shifter in H, with clutch, fighting against your rivals and with your own car, that's why people is spending money in DD wheels and pedals, that's why there is more products and mark like simucube, Moza, Fanatec, Logitech, and improving every new ffb nevera hear nothing about a gamepad could use as a wheel in real life, go wrong direction of technology is not intelligent

So if you're happy with thew toys you have why are you even here? go play with them.
Is it because you have no joy for others... it's Christmas and here's you being humbug, just because.
There, you've had lots of attention, better now?

Of course you do, and I have a right to agree or disagree, to question the sense in your endless contibutions to a thread of a sim/game that doesn't appeal to you, and also point out the obvious errors or misunderstandings as I see them.
However I would never use the ignore list for you, I simply don't have a use for that feature.

Considering in the same sentence he said "I don't like ACC" which was Kunos' current game at the time, I'm thinking you've got this wrong.

Oh well in that particular case he didn't take the money lol...

Sim racing today whenever someone brings up driver X says this it's usually a paid for presentation...

It's always better to talk to the lower levels of motorsports who don't get paid to say things...
