Rennsport To Add Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, Second Community Track

The incoming update to Rennsport on October 23 adds the first GT3 car from a non-German brand, along with a new track and various bug fixes.

The Rennsport sim racing platform has been under intense scrutiny, and it has only just entered open beta recently as well as become available on Steam. Content for the sim has been releasing periodically, with the likes of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, LMDh, GT4 and TCR being added.

October 23 sees the next new update to Rennsport, with the Aston Martin AMR Vantage GT3 making its way to the platform, making it the first GT3 car to be added after the cars from Audi, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes, all of which had been available since the sim first became available to the public.

The new Vantage has been indicated to be added to iRacing from an image they posted linking to its potential future inclusion as well, and it is also set to be added to Le Mans Ultimate alongside the other cars that race in LMGT3 in their remaining two Car Packs. But Rennsport has beaten them to the punch.

What else in the update?

Alongside the Aston GT3, there is also a new track which is the second-ever community creation after the fictional Orchard Road street circuit by Legion of Racers. This circuit is called Crest and it was made by @Tyrone - Nukedrop Mods who also created the planned Madrid 2026 F1 track, among a plethora of other popular Assetto Corsa circuits.

Crest is situated in the Swiss alps and is described in as having "stunning visuals and challenging corners" by Rennsport.

Along with Crest comes an update to a pre-existing track, as Hockenheim will have night-time driving enabled.

I haven't jumped in with this sim yet as tbh don't want to be on the early access train anymore but from what I'm reading this sim' should be a good entry in to our space when it is fully fledged out.

And besides, not an Assetto man myself so having this and the up coming Project Motor Racing is a welcome option in the new gen' arena.

But to add to the above there is still plenty of legs left in the older stuff particularly GTR2 and AMS1 with both being as good as the more modern sims thanks to the modding community, can easily wait..

Until they actually go in a direction that isn't absolutely and utterly flooded (ie, dull as dish water GT3), then I really don't see what this title has to offer. It is a shame as this niche community needs as many dev groups to continue as possible.

I really hope they find success, Rennsport is an interesting platform and they can try to provide a more compelling F2P offering to Raceroom's good but outdated free content consisting of fictional and outdated cars.
As much as the vocal people hate GT racing, it brings a lot of players to games and they need that.

Another avenue they should target is a console release. PC has a lot of simulators, and while the more the merrier, console has less competition which should help them gain a better footing on the market. Rennsport has quick and often races going and it's a pretty streamlined experience for those who don't want Gran Turismo or Forza.
With a recent update the gamepad controls got much better which would also help a console launch.

Rennsport and Raceroom need to merge, they kind of complement eachother, and have a similar F2P endgoal.

What niche in this little niche hobby of ours is Rennsport trying to fill? I feel all gaps have been filled already. It's not going to outdo the other established game titles out there with what paltry content and playerbase it has currently.

I am not really sure either, I hope they have a plan.
As this game is free to play, they are the only one with something to loose. For us, if we decide to download it and give it a try, it is all upside. Some interesting content with decent graphic and physic, I like that.
For now, since their is no AI, it is more oriented to either Online race or time trial. Overall I do not see anything to complain about from a customer perspective. No one is forced into anything.

The comment section is too toxic.
The comment sections in simracing is always toxic - because "my opinion and my game is the only right one" :)

It seems like you cant do a news item about a game without the grumpy ones have to go in and rant about how bad it is vs their specific game which is the only sim that obviously works.

Imagine a world where simracers start to unite again.
A world in which simracers can see the ups and downs in the different games and still have enough respect for other people/other peoples work to understand that other peoples opinions might be different.

Listen simracing is a niche within gaming, how about we dont ridicule each others choices of games and perhaps just start to respect each others opinions for what they are.... opinions, not facts. I don't like iRacing, that does not mean everyone who does like iRacing is wrong.
Come on guys - be better

I got Rennsport installed, but still not tried it - so i can't say much about it - except its using a nice engine :D (again opinion not fact).

Hey moderater what are u doing? U deleted my last sentence. U cut my opinion that s not fair.
What's not fair is you changed what you originally posted in your complaint post so as to make it more innocuous.
