With the October update to RaceRoom dropping deploying, here are all the changes being made to the platform.

The changes being made in RaceRoom's October Update will see a number improvements graphically and performance-wise to the platform and content. September's update was one of the most prominent yet in terms of not only revisions to the sim but also content additions.

The update featured a couple of classic DTM cars from Opel and Alfa Romeo, as well as classic DTM tracks such as AVUS, Fliegerhorst Diepholz and the old Hockenheim circuit. Whilst there is not much in the way of new content with the October update, there have been plenty of revisions to pre-existing content as well as further visual and performance improvements.

Listed below are all of the changes that will be made to RaceRoom in the October build.

I don't like how silent they've been about the 2024 DTM stuff, especially after the previous update having talked about it a fair bit. Some in-game events have used the cars and they're also present in some of the loading screen images, that doesn't make the wait any easier.

I can understand delays and licensing being a pain, but at least say something. A "working on it" or a "doing final adjustments", not just full on radio silence.

Intrigued to see if the AI tweaks address some of the uneven experiences I've been having on various car-track combos. Fingers crossed.

Agreed about the frustrating silence about the 2024 DTM content - was looking forward to the Lambo!

Well, I hope this update/patch reduces the demand on the gpu, as they are promising. The current update was running mine at 100% with capped frames and lowered graphics settings on my 4080.

can you give your full system specs ; your ingame graphics settings ; screens /vr ; and any other info as this seems strange

When they released the September update, they said that the DTM 2024 release is up to 2 months away, so we're still inside that timeframe.

10+ years gone, kids are grown up, face got more wrinckles...But game still have not changing weather and time of day.
There's gonna be new game title "Dry DTM Simulator"
Just saying, but the game does have dynamic time of day and different cloud presets.

Haha like AM2...but yep, its annoying

I noticed the contrary, for me (i9 12th 12900 and 4090) the cpu is the limiting factor (in VR)

100%. The CPU has always been the bottleneck in R3E, flatscreen and VR. Whether a 2070 Super or a 4090, not going to see much difference in performance when you start adding cars to the track. Not a diss on the sim, just something I experienced, having both of those GPU's.

I do have to wonder... all these people who complain about no rain, what is their obsession? Heard people crying for rain for years in iRacing, then they add it, and as expected few race in the rain. As an admitted AMS2 fanboy, I personally think Reiza spend way too much time developing wet tires and puddles on the track. As soon as it starts raining and headlights come on, the performance tanks.

Now when it comes to Rally, that's a bit different as weather is a big part of the sport. But track racing, I can't be bothered as I simply don't find it enjoyable nor realistic. YMMV

I really want to get back into RaceRoom but I feel like the ship has sailed unfortunately. I don't have the same feeling driving a RRRE car as I do when driving an RSS/VRC/URD car in AC. The thing I miss is immersion. The inside of the cars look pretty bland and I never thought it would be an issue for me but I feel a disconnect with the RRRE cars.

I have to agree. The last thing I want is to race in the rain. It's slower, boring and just becomes silly, especially with AI that isn't affected by the wet track at all!

Why aren't the selected weather conditions saved in practice? (probably in racing too)!
Every time you restart, you have to make changes again.
And if you forget, you have to restart the session...

I wonder if they'll ever update their UI now that they're updating the code? Main menu UI is horrendously dated. Especially now that rF2, AMS2, and iRacing have/will have gone through UI overhauls themselves by early 2025 or so.
