October 2023 saw the debut of Forza Motorsport . For the first anniversary of the title, Turn 10 Studios are celebrating with the release of Update 13 which is themed around Mustang Month.

Forza Motorsport turned one year old on the 10th of October, 2024. However, it has been far from plain sailing for the flagship motorsport title on Xbox as many players had hoped for more. That did not keep the team from releasing monthly updates, and this time it is all about celebrating with lots of free content for players and a fresh new update coming 'Next Week'.

Free content For Mustang Month

The content comes as a bit of a surprise with the theming around one specific manufacturer and model, the Ford Mustang. Each player will be able to claim all three 2024 versions of Ford's iconic muscle car from the in-game showroom. The cars in question are:

  • 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR
  • 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR
  • 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR

One of the three Ford Mustangs available for free in the showroom.

It would have been nice to see a bit more variety in these three free cars, but it is free content for all players and that is always something to appreciate.

For those players who own the Car Pass, you can look forward to an additional bonus car in this new update. The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse can be yours if you either own or buy the Forza Motorsport Car Pass, Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition or Premium Add-Ons Bundle.

These new cars will be released with the rest of the Mustang Month content on Thursday, October 17 at midnight UTC. These new Mustangs are not the only additions for this update, however.

Ford Mustang included in the Mustang Month update.

One for the hardcore Forza fans; Sunset Peninsula is due to make its long-awaited return after last appearing in Forza Motorsport 4! This classic addition to Forza's track roster is a fantastic circuit that will undoubtedly fit in perfectly in single-player and multiplayer modes.

Forza Motorsport's Update 13 also introduces a new 'Drift Mode', new options for Practice and Qualifying in Private Multiplayer races and additional upgrades for Forza Race Regulations. These updates, excluding the new drift mode, are quality-of-life changes. However, they are probably necessary for the current playable state of Forza Motorsport if it is to succeed heading into 2025.

This "sim" is total, utter, GARBAGE. I hadn't touched it in a long time and recently went back in after hearing "good things" following some updates and it is still just flat-out AWFUL. Literally doesn't feel like ANY other sim on the market, and I mean that in the worst possible way. I can't even enjoy the car-collecting and upgrading because the driving experience is just so terrible. Six years of development and THIS is what they roll out? Embarrassing.

The FFB on a wheel is just a good as Mario Kart. They even have 100 sliders that don't mean anything to nobody. They should have hired a real PC Sim expert for guidance. We've been lied to for years... Fire Chris and other Sr Mgmnt and replace with real sim experts.

Why I can't drive a car in this game. Awful! Tires are made with wood. Any race 50 sec. > behind the 1 place... At 50 KMH cars love been outside the track.

If simucube ever come out with a $15000 gamepad I might just give it a try.
no need, simucube is only wheel, and it's cheaper. But the xbox elite v2 is almost at 200€ it's the best gamepad ;) and you can drive like a wheel ;) but it's too much for many I guess ;)

Well, I guess if the Elite V2 is Tedybearx certified then it's a bit of a no brainer.

Just bought one from JB HIFI, Now to get in the Metla-Wagon and go pick it up.

Still not going to play Forza though.

this game with a gamepad is probably one of the best, it's so natural with a gamepad, the assist in the gamepad makes the driving very smooth.
Have to agree with you there, it along with horizon play outstandingly with a controller. Dont care at all how it plays with a wheel as I have other games for that

Forza Motorsport was meant to be a huge upgrade, instead we got FM7 with slightly prettier graphics and slightly better physics....even got most of the same cars with the rest stripped out to be given back as 'content'.

Where are the 2024 cars like the 911 GT3 RS, where are the current GT4 and GT3 cars or the rest of the WEC field?

i used share the same sentiment as everyone else with Forza Motorsport especially with a wheel. I used a Moza R9 DD and I finally got it feeling like a decent sim or sim-cade is this case. If i can only get them to add more FOV sliders I would be a happy racer.

FM feels good on my DD2. Had to spend a couple hours with the settings but got it right. The physics are also the closest to sim territory out of the driving game field. People who trash this clearly haven't spent any time with it and/or made up their mind before it even came out. I can easily move from rF2, AMS2, AC, ACC, LMU to Forza Motorsport and not have to adjust too much of my driving style. Can't say that for Grind Turdismo. 🤷‍♀️

Ive bought it on a sale a time ago and its ok.
Dont have any problems with this game and it runs mega smooth.
No issues here.
I prefer to play for my own and try/level up my favourite cars.
And i like it. I dont play it day by day but its a good variety to the "proper" sims.
The strange thing is that there are some car-track-combos which i really enjoy.
As for me the biggest negative point is the no existent VR.
